The race game of the late Roman world, beloved of emperors and the direct ancestor of backgammon. Cast two dice and run your fifteen pieces along the twenty-four points and off the board.
Rules
Click "Cast dice" to roll two dice, then use each die to move a piece that many points, or to enter a piece from the tray on the left.
A point held by two or more enemies is closed to you; a point held by a single enemy (a "blot") can be hit, sending it back to the tray.
Land two or more of your own pieces on a point to hold it safely.
Once all fifteen of your pieces have reached the final six points, bear them off. First to bear off all fifteen wins.
Tips
Try to keep two or more pieces on a point — a lone piece is a blot the enemy can hit and send all the way back. Build a wall of closed points in front of the enemy’s waiting pieces to stall their entry while you run home.
