The Greek battle of wits that Plato likened to the ordering of a city and a mind. Eight stones a side slide like rooks along the ranks and files. Flank an enemy stone between two of yours to take it.
Rules
You move first. Tap one of your (red) stones, then a highlighted square to slide it there along a rank or file.
Flank an enemy stone between two of your own to capture it — a stone that moves into the gap between two enemies is safe.
There is no leader piece in Petteia — every stone moves the same way.
Wear the enemy army down to nothing, or hem it in so it cannot move, to win.
Tips
Control the central files so your stones support one another. Advance in a connected line rather than lone runners — a stone with a friend directly behind it can never be flanked along that direction.
