An optional house rule bans the first player from opening in the centre — toggle it before you start.
Placing phase: tap any empty point to place a piece; sliding phase: tap a piece, then a highlighted point on any line (including diagonals).

Tips
With diagonals the centre touches every point and sits on 4 lines — it is dominant, which is why the house-rule ban exists. Force zugzwang: leave your opponent no move that does not open a line for you.
