A Northern-European hunting game played on a cross-shaped board, pitting a lone fox against a flock of geese. You march the geese; the AI plays the fox. Hem the fox in so it has no legal move left to win — but the fox leaps over and captures any goose it can, so don't let your flock thin out too far.
Rules
Geese move one step forward or sideways only — never backward — into an empty adjacent hole.
The fox moves one step in any direction, or leaps over an adjacent goose into the empty hole beyond to capture it, chaining further leaps where possible.
Trap the fox with no legal move (step or leap) left to win.
If the fox thins your flock down to 5 geese or fewer, or your geese are ever left with no legal move, the AI wins instead.
Tips
Advance in a solid, unbroken line and never leave an empty hole directly behind a goose — that is exactly the gap the fox jumps into. Herd the fox into an arm of the cross and seal off its only exit.
