Jul-gonu

How to play

A real Korean children’s game (줄고뉘, "line gonu"): four pieces a side on a small 4×4 grid, sliding one step along the lines each turn. Trap an enemy piece — or an unbroken line of them — between two of yours to capture it, though walking safely between two enemies is never itself dangerous.

Rules

  • Tap one of your pieces, then a highlighted point to slide it one step along a line.
  • Trap an AI piece — or an unbroken line of AI pieces — between two of your pieces to capture the whole line.
  • Captures only happen on the piece you just moved, so walking between two enemies is always safe.
  • A move that exactly undoes your own last move is not allowed, matching the traditional no-repeat rule.
  • Capture every AI piece to win.

Tips

This is one of the oldest "draw-with-perfect-play" games around — walking a piece between two enemies is always safe, since captures only happen on the mover's own move. Use that to probe forward safely, and watch for moments the AI leaves a piece one step from being flanked.
