Four-Field Kono

How to play

A compact Korean capture game on a 4×4 grid, full of stones to start. You capture in a curious way — jump one of your own stones over another adjacent stone of your own, landing on an enemy stone beyond it to remove it.

Rules

  • Tap one of your stones that has a capture available, then the highlighted landing point to jump.
  • A jump must go: your stone, then an adjacent stone of your own, landing directly on an enemy stone beyond it in a straight line.
  • That jump is the only legal move — there is no plain, non-capturing slide.
  • Reduce the AI to a single stone, or leave it with no capture to make, to win. The same applies to you in reverse.

Tips

Every capture needs two of your stones lined up with an AI stone just beyond, so keep your stones paired and connected rather than scattered. Breaking up the AI's pairs is as good as taking stones — a lone AI stone can never jump.
