How to play

A full chess board against a computer opponent. You play white — click a piece to see its legal moves, then click a highlighted square to move there.

Rules

  • Click one of your white pieces to see its legal moves highlighted.
  • Click a highlighted square to move there — a highlighted occupied square is a capture.
  • Pawns that reach the far row automatically promote to a queen.
  • Capture the AI's king to win; losing yours ends the game.

Tips

Develop your knights and bishops before your queen, and check whether any piece you're about to move leaves another one of yours free to be captured.
