Yut Nori

How to play

The great Korean festival game, played by casting four flat yut sticks. Race your horses around the square track and home — but the corners and centre open diagonal shortcuts. Land on an AI horse to send it home and win a bonus throw.

Rules

  • Press "Cast yut" to throw the four sticks — the number of round faces up sets your move (1 Do, 2 Gae, 3 Geol, 4 Yut, all flat = 5 Mo).
  • Throwing Yut or Mo, or capturing an AI horse, wins you a bonus throw.
  • Tap a highlighted horse (or the stable) to move it that many steps around the track.
  • Landing on the corners or centre pūtahi lets a horse cut across a diagonal shortcut on its next move.
  • Land on an AI horse to send it straight back to the stable. Stack your own horses to move them together.
  • Bring all four of your horses all the way home before the AI to win.

Tips

Landing a horse exactly on a corner or the centre lets it cut across a diagonal on its next move — a big shortcut home. Stacking your own horses on one square moves them together, but the AI can capture the whole stack at once, so weigh the risk.
