How to play

Set your own rules. Choose your own base minutes, a Fischer increment, and a Bronstein delay — or set base time to 0 for a fully untimed study game.

Rules

  • Tap or click a piece to see its legal moves highlighted, then tap the destination — or drag the piece directly.
  • Open "Game setup" to set your own base minutes, increment and delay before starting — set base minutes to 0 for no clock at all.
  • All standard chess rules apply: castling, en passant, pawn promotion, threefold repetition and the 50-move rule.
  • Checkmate the computer, force a resignation, or (if timed) win on time to take the game.

Tips

Untimed (0 base minutes) is the best way to actually study a position or work through an opening line without any pressure.
